Only Six Years
"I have served as an advisor to 8 American Presidents, and
have seen first hand the wasted effort that the entire
administration spends, for at least a year, trying to get into
that 2nd term.
I hope to see America change to a single 6-year term."
Dr. Milton Eisenhower
Starting with Thomas Jefferson, 144 resolutions have been
introduced in Congress, seeking this Presidential tenure limitation.
Running the nation requires the President's full time and
attention.  The six-year term frees the President and staff
from the exhausting ordeal of the campaign trail, and permits
the exercise of greater courage and independence.
History shows that an American president’s second four
year term has never been outstanding. It is usually no more
than mediocre.
